Young singer/songwriter folk-blues balladeer George Ezra first came to attention when BBC Introducing in his adopted home of Bristol picked up on a handful of tracks posted online. That led to a live session at the legendary Maida Vale studios and an oversubscribed performance on their stage at the 2013 Glastonbury Festival. The singer/songwriter possesses a deep, resonant, and emotionally weathered voice that belies his considerable youth. Influenced by similarly precocious troubadours like Dylan and Hank Williams, Ezra was just 19 when he issued his debut single 'Budapest', a warm, amiable, and soulful slice of classy folk-pop that invoked names like Willy Mason, Ben Howard, Ray Lamontagne and Tom Odell.

'Mall Grab came out of nowhere to become one of the most talked about artists of 2016. His lo-fi jams struck a chord with the emerging hazy house scene that has seen labels such as Lobster Theremin and 1080p rise to prominence, and his playful online presence has made him an engaging, if at times divisive, artist in a field of often sterile social media updates. The young producer, real name Jordon Alexander, hails from Newcastle in Australia’s New South Wales state. He first got into music through the records his parents would play by bands like The Cure, The Clash and Talking Heads, and he still counts David Byrne among his biggest musical influences, also noting that, 'I think his sense of humour aligns with mine quite well too.' An interest in dance music flourished in his teenage years as the Ed Banger crew developed into a movement, and he became a self-confessed “total wannabe electro teen DJ.”'

Barrington DeVaughn Hendricks, better known by his pseudonym JPEGMAFIA is an American rapper and producer based in Baltimore, Maryland. 'Often, art is considered the safe space for dangerous ideas. JPEGMAFIA is a reminder that in a dangerous world, sometimes nowhere is safe. Operating out of Baltimore Maryland but born in New York to Jamaican parents, JPEG spent the bulk of his childhood in East Flatbush, Brooklyn – a neighborhood deeply rooted in West Indian culture and black pride – and the majority of his mid teens in deep south rural Alabama – bouncing from place to place due to rough circumstances at home & after a short stint in prison due to a racially-charged altercation in his late teens, JPEG joined the military where he’d be deployed to different parts of the world, meeting fellow artists and adding new elements to his producing and rapping repertoire. If trap music is the sound of the street, then JPEGMAFIA is trap’s subconscious; dark but not without a humor that makes things even more uncomfortable. His role as villain or satirist, hood protector or nihilist is intentionally hard to put one’s finger on. What more appropriate way to embody the frightening and confusing reality of America today?'

Icarus (Bristol-based brothers Tom and Ian Griffiths) have shared a long journey through the outer realms of electronic music. Newly signed to FFRR, they recently released their debut for the label - Don’t Cry Wolf EP. Icarus’s surfeit of ideas is unsurprising given their background. Both played in bands (Ian on guitar, and Tom on bass) prior to becoming enamoured with production and DJing whilst studying music. Tom’s musical interest evolved from alternative rock to a spectrum of dance music. Ian, meanwhile, was consumed by his older brother’s mixtapes and drum ‘n’ bass auteur LTJ Bukem. Those early influences have evolved with further inspiration sourced from the soundtrack stylings of Cliff Martinez and Hans Zimmer.

Crazy P Soundsystem
Seven albums, a career spanning over 20 years and yet Crazy P remain stronger and more relevant than ever. Funny how the tides of time turn, and how the sounds of a typically British type of house and disco are now more du jour then ever before. Way before the rise in prominence of disco, house and soulful pop Crazy P have spearheaded the revival (and perpetuation) of these sounds since 1997.

Col3trane is a London-based artist of Egyptian-American heritage, combining RnB and soul in a stunning new style. Releasing his debut single ‘New Chain’ in 2017, the sentiments he’s packing are relatable and raw, yet there’s no hint of the formulaic emotional response in his songwriting: this is off-the-leash urbane sentimentality.

Manchester's Geko began rapping from the age of just eight. By the age of thirteen, he was signed to the UK music collective USG - home to fellow rap star K Koke - becoming the youngest member to join the popular group. The success of his debut single 'Heartless' was a major achievement for the youngster, who had gone from rapping in the playground to recording warm-up sessions with leading online youth broadcaster SB.TV and performing alongside Tinie Tempah and Big Sean. Yet despite being so young, Geko is inspired by the old skool. “I don't listen to new school rap, ever. I listen to UK rap sometimes, but I listen to straight old school rap like Ice Cube, Biggie, Tupac. That’s me.”
