The learning disability charity Mencap has announced a heavyweight line up for the Mencap Big Comedy Special on Wednesday 2nd October 2013 at The Hammersmith Apollo, London.
The comedy marathon includes funny favorites Omid Djalili, Jo Brand, Richard Herring, Jessica Hynes, Andrew Maxwell, Jon Richardson, Susan Calman, Tim Vine and Wendy Wason who have all signed up to do their bit for the Mencap comedy evening which promises to be a mix of stand-up comedy and sketches featuring special guests still to be announced.
The Mencap Big Comedy Special brings together some of the UK’s best-loved comedians for a fundraising night of side-splitting entertainment. All proceeds from the event will support Mencap’s continued work supporting people with a learning disability, their families and carers.

This event takes place at Eventim Apollo, which has achieved Bronze Status for disabled access from Attitude Is Everything.
One of Britain's freshest and most original comics, this British-born Iranian hams the accent and underlines the cliches before pulling the Persian rug from under the audience. With a career in comedy spanning across three decades, Omid Djalili's legendary performances on stage and screen have won him fans and plaudits the world over.
Renowned for his razor sharp wit, boundless energy and expertly crafted cultural observations, his original material continues to explore the diversity of modern Britain and he remains one of the most exciting entertainers on the circuit.
A firm favourite at the Edinburgh Festival, Omid's stand-up awards include the Time Out Award for Best Stand Up and the EMMA Award. He's also been a nominee for a Perrier Award and the South Bank Award. Omid was also awarded a Best Actor award at the Turin Film Festival for his lead performance in The Infidel.

Richard completed a 94 date nationwide tour of his critically acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe show, Christ On A Bike: The Second Coming. In 2010 he also published his book, 'How Not To Grow Up', and released 'Hitler Moustache' - his acclaimed stand up show - on DVD.
