Avenged Sevenfold

Avenged Sevenfold appearing at this event

Californian metalcore warriors Avenged Sevenfold fuse the pulsating elements of Pantera, Metallica and Maiden with Bad Religion, The Misfits, Guns & Roses and Nofx. They've been hailed by Ultimate Guitar as one of the top ten bands of the decade. The band have also become known for their spectacular live shows, routinely selling out arenas worldwide and headlining some of the biggest and most prestigious music festivals. Following the tragic death of original drummer James "The Rev" Sullivan, the band chose to carry on and recruited Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater to replace Sullivan for their fifth studio album, 2010's 'Nightmare'. The band have achieved worldwide success with a string of best-selling albums - including their 2005 platinum breakthrough City Of Evil, 2007’s Avenged Sevenfold, Nightmare (2010) and their most recent, Hail To The King - achieving Diamond, Platinum and Gold awards for album sales in nearly a dozen countries.

Sabaton

Sabaton appearing at this event

Grammy-nominated power metallers from Sweden, Sabaton base their lyrics on war and historical battles. Their ideas are drawn from World War I, World War II and other conflicts, with songs written about battles and leaders. Lead singer Joakim Brodén formed a new line-up of Sabaton, following the departure of most original members in 2012, and 2014 saw the fruits of the first new material under the line-up change. Long term fans need not worry though, 7th album 'Heroes' remains faithful to their original sound, with perhaps a slightly darker atmosphere and some amped-up heaviness.

Limp Bizkit

Limp Bizkit appearing at this event

Limp Bizkit formed in the mid-1990s in Jacksonville, an assemblage of visionaries brought together by frontman Fred Durst, a former Navy plebe turned tattoo artist who'd been writing raps since he was 14. The collision of sensibilities between Durst, Otto, Borland, bassist Sam Rivers and House of Pain's DJ Lethal formed a synthesis that was entirely of its time, a sonic barrage of crunchy power chords, phat grooves and psycho-delic loops that was without precedent - at least all under the same roof.

Megadeth

Megadeth appearing at this event

Formed in 1983 by guitarist/vocalist Dave Mustaine after an acrimonious departure from Metallica, Megadeth became one of the most acclaimed and successful thrash metal bands of their era and beyond. Mustaine expanded on the typical metal blueprint by speeding up the tempos and putting an emphasis on his lightning-fast technical guitar skills. His nihilistic lyrics and unrelenting musical attack resulted in a series of thrash metal classics from Megadeth throughout the 1980s and into the early '90s. Along with being considered high water marks of the metal genre, 1986's Peace Sells... But Who's Buying? and 1992's Countdown to Extinction sold in the millions and influenced the next generation of speed metal bands.
