Rising from the ashes of Joy Division, the enigmatic New Order triumphed over tragedy to emerge as one of the most influential and acclaimed bands of all time. While their debut album Movement (1981) was shadowed by the legacy of Joy Division, going forward the band combined their original post-punk sound with influences from New York’s club scene. The result was Power, Corruption & Lies (1983), released on Factory Records. From this album came the single “Blue Monday”, which has since become the best-selling 12-inch single of all time. They went on to release a string of albums; Low-Life (1985), Brotherhood (1986) Substance (1987) and Technique (1989). Republic (1993) Get Ready (2001) and Waiting for the Sirens’ Call (2005) before Peter Hook’s departure in 2007. In 2015, the band released their critically acclaimed album Music Complete, reaching #2 in the UK album chart. The album's title seems to shine a hue on New Order's new manifesto: new line-up, newly eclectic sound, reinvigorated in their fourth decade as a unit. New Order performed as part of Manchester International Festival 2017 for a series of unique shows in collaboration with Liam Gillick. These shows were such a success, they were taken to Turin and Vienna in May 2018 to further great acclaim.

Polly Jean Harvey first hit the music scene in the early 90s with her 'Dry' album. An original style, described as caustic, seductive, savage and ironic, propelled her into stardom and continues to do so, but she has remained unique and uncorrupted by commercial temptation. Her immense critical acclaim has seen her twice become a winner of the Mercury Music Prize, in 2001 for 'Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea' then again in 2011 for 'Let England Shake'. She has also received a total of six Grammy nominations, eight Brit Award nominations and in 2011 was awarded for Outstanding Contribution To Music at the NME awards.

Quite possibly the funkiest band in the world, the Chili's brand of rap, rock, punk and funk has created a sound which is uniquely theirs. Outrageous onstage, Anthony, Flea and Co. veer from the strutting, punk energy of 'Suck My Kiss' to the spine-tingling balladry of modern classic 'Under The Bridge' with an ease that only truly great bands possess.

The New York Times labeled it a 'a tour de force' while Pitchfork said 'every song on ‘Currents’ is a revelatory statement of Parker's range and increasing expertise as a producer, arranger, songwriter, and vocalist'. In a 5 star review the Guardian said 'Australian musical polymath Kevin Parker's luscious new album takes psychedelic music into unknown territory” while Q magazine called it “Parker's finest achievement yet'. Born and raised in Queens, Action, real name Arian Asllani, was fed on a diet of hip hop from an early age, citing the discovery of Wu-Tang's Clan album '36 Chambers' aged ten and Kool G Rap as massive influences on his lyrical style. His enthusiasm for food led Action to attend the Art Institute of New York City's culinary program and go on to become a well-respected gourmet chef in the City, until he broke his leg in January 2011 and turned to his other love; rapping. Realising he could combine both music and food, the artist began releasing mixtapes with foody themes ('Bon Appetit…B**ch!!!!!') and giving his tracks tasty titles (Jerk Chicken, Forbidden Fruit, Eggs On The Third Floor). The result was lyrics that were full of passion and tunes with absolutely no artificial preservatives!

Bring Me The Horizon
Bring Me The Horizon hurtled from Sheffield with a brand of metal and hardcore music that’s been evolving ever since. From humble beginnings, picking up Kerrang!’s Best newcomer award in 2006, they’ve matured and risen through the ranks of British rock music winning various prestigious awards along the way. The style of their early work has been described as deathcore, but the band started to adopt a more eclectic style of metalcore on subsequent albums. Their 2015 album, 'That's The Spirit', marked a shift in their sound to less aggressive rock music styles, including electronic rock and nu metal. This was a conscious decision made by the band in a bid to change their direction and appeal.

CHVRCHES are Iain Cook, Martin Doherty and Lauren Mayberry - three distinct individuals bearing three distinct personalities on a consummate whole. Combining indie sensibilities and aesthetics with barbed pop hooks and and an unhealthy obsession with Prince, CHVRCHES take elements of classic electronica, hip hop and post-punk, and yet sound like none of the above. Their blend of classic and modern analogue synthesisers, bruised beats and crude vocal sampling, has earned them critical praise and commercial success with three UK top 10 albums.

Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith
"It's a difficult balance, pulling in pieces from the fringes of electronic culture and framing them in something so delightfully breezy. Smith triggers sounds that bounce around like hyperactive jellybeans, making it feel like her electronic bleeps and bloops are lost in joyous conversation with one another." - Pitchfork

Electronic / hiphop artist, producer and multi instrumentalist. The name Mura Masa comes from infamous Japanese sword-smith Muramasa Sengo. Alex grew up on the island of Guernsey and spent a lot of his childhood jamming in local indie bands. For a while, he immersed himself in indie and rock music until, at the age of 15, he discovered electronic music via Hudson Mohawke's experimental track Thunder Bay. Soon after that, he stumbled across James Blake, which made him realise the endless possibilities in music production. More internet research ensued and he came across other musicians like SBTRKT, Cashmere Cat and Flying Lotus, who all helped to shape his idiosyncratic mix of sounds.

Acclaimed as one of the most important composers and performers of all time, Neil Young could almost be two artists in one body. Formerly known as Santogold, the lovechild of submarine sonar and low frequency midnight moans, Santigold was born somewhere between Bedstuy and Bushwick, Brooklyn and was placed under the care of enigmatic singer and songwriter Santi White. Santigold drives dub and 80's pop influences from song to song. Sometimes basement rock, sometimes Bananarama-soundclash, Santigold is a vehicle for White's well drawn late night fight lines and robot-witch scat on the beat. Warbling bass, island upbeat, and deep-south snap provide foundation for White's whispering lilts and tension-ridden verses.

The Grandaddies of Thrash are still going and are just as brutal as ever. Controversial from the word go, and as extreme as anything that had gone before, Slayer shook the metal world to its foundations in the 80s with a succession of intense, violent and hugely popular albums. Two decades later and Slayer are still one of the biggest draws on the metal circuit.

So Pitted's sludgy take on post-punk has been winning them fans around Seattle for quite some time, and for good reason. Their songs bristle with a nervous, jangly energy—the vocalist mutters about "spewing while [he] speaks," while the drums barrel on with paranoid skittishness and atonal guitars squeak out diseased-sounding earworms. Bad vibes equal good times.

Before Stormzy released his platinum-selling #1 debut album, ‘Gang Signs & Prayer’ in February 2017, many would merely have called him one of the most promising rappers on the UK scene. Nearly three years on however, that description is utterly inadequate. A showman like no other, his remarkable ascent has been accompanied by his honest and relatable character. Known for evolving the underground musical landscape, as well as being a perennial political agitator, Stormzy is a true spokesman of black empowerment and social activism. He has become one of the UK’s most inspiring cultural figures and earlier this year, during his headline performance at Glastonbury Festival, he took the opportunity to highlight a plethora of social issues, including the injustice of young black children being criminalised in a biased and disproportionate justice system.

From New York City, as producers, their less is more approach to releasing records has made massive fans out of Sensu favourites Josh Wink, Dubfire, Loco Dice and Sebo K. As DJs, what sets them apart is their sense of flow and timing. Watch them behind the decks: they don't stop moving. Lean, lanky, all wrists and elbows and ear-to-ear grins, these kids look like they were born to move. They're practically climbing over each other as records flow together, one brother cueing up a track, the other EQing, the headphones passed back and forth, forearms intertwined, heads bobbing in unison. It's amazing to watch and it's even more amazing to hear.

Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats
Arriving at an abandoned barn beneath a dead summer sky, Uncle Acid sets up his crackling vintage tweed amp. Nestled between bales of hay he sings tales of murder, lust and horror. He is soon joined by two female deadbeats he met hitchhiking. Playing on battered old pawn shop instruments, the trio record their tales onto a broken 8 track tape machine. A strange dynamic appears within the band, as Acid reveals himself as leader and controller of minds. The band has now taken over the barn. Illegal electricity powers old televisions and amplifiers. Old horror films play constantly as the trio delve deeper into a strange understanding based on drugs, lust and control. The music continues...
