Maisie Adam

Maisie Adam appearing at this event

Maisie Adam first tried stand-up comedy in October 2016, in her native North Yorkshire (and unlike most newbie stand-ups, she did a full hour for her first ever gig). A couple of months later, she applied for the UK's largest stand-up competition: So You Think You're Funny. She headed up to Edinburgh for the semi-final, which she won, and the final was held at the end of the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe. Maisie won this too, becoming only the fourth woman to have done so in 30 years. Maisie returned to the Edinburgh Fringe the following year with her debut show Vague, which sold out the Gilded Balloon every day, received rave reviews and earned her a nomination for Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards. She also won the Amused Moose National New Comic whilst up at the Fringe, and Vague was picked up by the Soho Theatre for an extended post-Edinburgh run in January 2019. You may have also seen Maisie Adam on BBC's Mock the Week, Channel 4’s 8 Out of 10 Cats and ITV’s The Stand Up Sketch Show, and she has appeared on The Stephen K Amos Talk Show (Audible) and Urban Myths (Sky Arts). Other credits include BBC Three’s Period Dramas, and as show support for fellow stand-up Kiri Pritchard-McLean

Bridget Christie

Bridget Christie appearing at this event

Bridget Christie has been a regular on the sketch and stand-up circuit for over 15 years. In 2013 she became the third woman to win the Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Show with A Bic For Her, which went on to win the 2014 South Bank Sky Arts Award for Best Comedy, the 2014 Chortle Award for Best Show, a 2014 Hospital 100 Club Award for Performance and broke box office records at Soho Theatre. In December 2019 the show was named as one of The Times comedy shows of the decade. She is the host of BBC Radio 4 series Bridget Christie Minds the Gap and the first British woman to have her own Netflix special. 'One of the finest comedians around' (The Independent) 'A superb stand-up with a powerful voice and something to say. It's nothing short of a revelation' (The Observer) '... another cracking show from the current queen of crusading UK comedy...' ( The Guardian).

Jack Dee

Jack Dee appearing at this event

Although he's a man of few smiles, Jack Dee's deadpan, dry humour has made him one of Britain's favourite veteran comedians. Starting his career as a stand-up comic, he first came to the small screen in the 1990s as the face of the John Smith's Bitter advertising campaign and soon became known as 'The Midget with the Widget'. By 1995, he had appeared in countless TV shows and gained an impressive array of awards. In 2001, he was the highlight of Celebrity Big Brother digging secret escape tunnels while the others were in the bath. Much to his surprise, the nation showed their adoration voting him the winner of the series. With often sell-out gigs, a chance to see this talented misery onstage definitely shouldn't be missed.
