An Evening of Comedy: Jason Manford, John Bishop, Micky Flanagan, Patrick Kielty, Rob Beckett, Hal Cruttenden
Teenage Cancer Trust at the Royal Albert Hall wouldn’t be complete without an evening of comedy.
This year sees Jason Manford hosting, joined by the superstar talents of John Bishop, Micky Flanagan, Patrick Kielty, Rob Beckett and Hal Cruttenden.
Jason Manford said: “I love these Teenage Cancer Trust gigs. They stand-out not just because the atmosphere is always amazing, but also because of the young people with cancer I’ve met through being part of these shows for a number of years and visiting several of the charity’s specialist wards. They totally inspire me every single time. It’s a great night with a stonking line-up. Buy your ticket now!”
Please note that the artists appearing may be subject to change.
This event takes place at Royal Albert Hall, which has achieved Silver Status for disabled access from Attitude Is Everything.
Renowned for his hilarious observations and loveable, friendly delivery, Jason has been a firm favourite with comedy fans of all ages since his first solo stand-up show earned him huge critical acclaim and a nomination for the prestigious Perrier Newcomer Award back in 2005.
'Effortlessly entertaining' (Evening Standard)
'He's blessed with the sort of laid-back charm and sharp turn of phrase you can't manufacture' (The Daily Telegraph)
'Manford retains an affably jovial demeanour that makes him warmly enjoyable company' (Chortle)
'What Manford does best: classic, chirpy-chappie stand-up' (The Guardian).
Jason Manford tour dates
Winner of the City Life Comedian of the Year and a finalist in both the Mercury Comedy Awards and the Daily Telegraph Open Mic Awards. A strong stage presence and life experience make him a comedian who is not afraid to take chances, and this is reflected in his status as one of the best comics in the country.
'One of the most popular comedians in the country' (Mail on Sunday)
'This is a treat' (The Times)
'Hottest stand-up going’ Daily Telegraph
'A fabulously gifted comedian' (The Mirror)
'One of this country's biggest comedy stars' (Time Out).
John Bishop tour dates
Razor sharp wit and no nonsense delivery with a classic working class East End background. He could have been a gangster, or a street urchin... Instead he went off to university and became a wordsmith. Not much call for them in Hackney, so he learnt a trade: being a comedian. His star exploded on to the comedy circuit a couple of years ago with a brilliantly observed Edinburgh Fringe show about his rise from working-class Herbert to middle-class ponce, and being caught awkwardly between the two. The show brought him well-deserved acclaim with a best newcomer nomination at the if.comedy awards (now the Edinburgh Comedy Awards). He has since gone on to appear on The Royal Variety Performance, Live At The Apollo, Michael McIntyre's Roadshow, Have I Got News For You and Celebrity Mastermind (chosen subject...'The Boss' - Bruce Springsteen). He also brought the house down as part of the all star bill at Channel 4's Comedy Gala Live At The O2 alongside the likes of Lee Evans and Michael McIntyre, as well as fronting his very own Radio 4 series, What Chance Change? in 2010.
Micky Flanagan tour dates
Comedian and TV presenter from Northern Ireland, Patrick first rose to fame in 1995 after appearing on Comic Relief's St Patrick's Day Stand Up Special with Ben Elton and Jo Brand.
'Genius' (The Sun)
'He ripped the place apart' (The Guardian)
'Kielty is fabulous' (The Times)
'Funny and inspiring' (Daily Express)
'Kielty is a revelation' (Evening Standard).
Patrick Kielty tour dates
Rob grew up in south east London in a large extended family of taxi drivers where it was a fight to be heard.
As a middle child desperate for attention he needed to be funny so was in awe of his Grandad's jokes, but only until he saw a Tommy Cooper video and realised Grandad Cook was a massive plagiarist.
'A little short of a revelation (The Scotsman)
'Relentlessly smiley, perpetually grinning Londoner whose unshowy, unpretentious but thoroughly funny shtick has every chance of winning him a big audience' (The Guardian)
'He already has the confidence of a veteran' (The Times)
'Joyous, cheek aching and touching stand up' (Shortlist).
Rob Beckett tour dates
Host of Live At The Apollo and star of Radio 4, the great Hal is back ranting about the real evils of the modern world - over sharing on social media and the 5:2 diet. The more he complains the funnier he gets.
As seen on The Royal Variety Performance, Would I Lie To You? The Great British Bake Off; An Extra Slice, Live At The Palladium and Have I Got News For You.
'An Absolute joy to watch' (The Scotsman)
'Hugely talented' (The Times).
