Organisers of the annual Cambridge Rock Festival have announced that this year’s event will go ahead over the same four days as usual, i.e. Thursday August 3rd to Sunday August 6th. However, the location will move to Horseheath Lodge, CB21 4PT following a new sponsorship arrangement with Cambridge’s Black Barn Records. Festival director Dave Roberts said “This will be our 13th full festival and we aim for it to be the start of a new chapter in the life of the CRF at an amazing new site – indeed as well as putting something in place for this year we are already thinking about 2018 too, which we expect to be even better as we will have the experience of our new site behind us”.
This event follows a hugely successful 2016, which bands and festival goers alike labelled the best ever. Whilst organisers must remain tight-lipped about this year’s acts until contracts are in place, previous festivals have featured many of the UK’s biggest classic rock, prog and blues bands and musicians (Asia, Wishbone Ash, Caravan, Focus, Eddie & The Hotrods, FM, Magnum, Don Airey, Uriah Heep, Thunder, Mick Ralphs, The Quireboys to name just a few) as well as overseas acts from Europe, the USA and Australia.
An initial batch of 400 “earlybird” tickets are now on sale and in past years these have been snapped up within weeks – it is intended that more full price weekend and day tickets will be available in the future. Details and early-bird tickets on www.cambridgerockfestival.co.uk
