Fatboy Slim

Fatboy Slim appearing at this event

English DJ and electronic music producer Norman Quentin Cook was a pioneer of the '90s big beat movement, issuing a handful of era-hits like The Rockafeller Skank and Praise You under the moniker Fatboy Slim. Formerly the bassist for the Housemartins and one-third of acid house hitmakers Pizzaman, Cook started by releasing his Fatboy material through club staple Skint, with his raucous blend of house, acid, funk, hip-hop, electro, and techno adding to his already formidable reputation as one of the foremost all-around producers on the UK club scene. More than two decades on, he's still one of the biggest DJs in the world.

Courteeners

Courteeners appearing at this event

Manchester's Courteeners both look and sound as though they've come straight out of another time and place, and yet, somehow, are bang up to date. Think Babyshambles meets The Smiths and you'll be somewhere close to their gritty, electrifying sound. The band, who have been friends since childhood, have grown into one of the UK’s premier guitar bands delivering such era-defining anthems as ‘Not Nineteen Forever’, ‘Are You in Love with a Notion’, ‘How Good It Was’, ‘The 17th’ and last year’s ‘Hanging Off Your Cloud’.

Wolf Alice

Wolf Alice appearing at this event

North London's Wolf Alice take their name from a book by Angela Carter. Originally a solo project for frontwoman Ellie Rowsell, it soon expanded into a full four-piece band with Joff Oddie (guitar, vocals), Theo Ellis (bass) and Joel Amey (drums, vocals). Eloquently described by Clash Magazine as ‘the lovechild of folk and grunge’, Wolf Alice's off-kilter sound has seen folky vocals combine with the alt-rock of 90's bands like Hole and Elastica.

Kaiser Chiefs

Kaiser Chiefs appearing at this event

Formed in Leeds in 2000, Kaiser Chiefs are one of the leading bands of their generation. The infectious enthusiasm of their music and the unique viewpoint of their lyrics has seen them compared to Franz Ferdinand, Blur, The Clash, and Madness, but their passionately dedicated fans know that this band are true originals, confirmed by the fact they're still going strong two decades on.

The Vaccines

The Vaccines appearing at this event

London-based four-piece The Vaccines firmly believe that less is more, with songs like 'Wreckin' Bar (Ra Ra Ra)' clocking in at under two minutes! Their fast and furious brand of giddy rock 'n' roll could almost be the sound of the Libertines and Ramones falling down the stairs at 100MPH. The band released their debut album What Did You Expect From The Vaccines in 2011, which became the biggest selling debut album by a band that year, while the 2012 follow up, Come Of Age, reached number one in the UK album charts. They have continued to have top 5 chart albums with 2015's English Graffiti and 2018's Combat Sports. "On record the Vaccines wallow in the echo-drenched wooziness made famous by the Jesus And Mary Chain, but live they reach back further through pop's past glories, stirring the shimmering girl group drama conjured by Phil Spector and scuzzed up by the Ramones." -The Guardian.
