Bristol Comedy Garden: Sean Lock, Angelos Epithemiou, Sarah Keyworth, Rhys James, Andrew Maxwell
The mighty Bristol Comedy Garden returns to Queen Square this July 3-7th with stand-up luminaries Stewart Lee and Sean Lock leading yet another outrageously good line-up performing at the Southwest’s favourite comedy extravaganza.
Kicking this year off in hilariously surreal style is the 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown team captain Sean Lock with the legendary Stewart Lee headlining a fantastic festival finale in the Big Top on the Sunday night, with a whole lot more enlightening entertainment in between. Don’t miss US stand-up sensation and star of Channel 4’s ‘Catastrophe’ Rob Delaney, the multi award-winning talents of Sara Pascoe, Mash Report host and Mock The Week regular Nish Kumar, the riotous storytelling of Royal Variety Performance star Tom Allen, and the raucously funny British Comedy Award winner Aisling Bea, Taskmaster stars Phil Wang and Lolly Adefope, observational master Ed Byrne, Alan Partridge star Tim Key, 2018 Edinburgh Comedy Award winner Rose Matafeo and fast-rising newcomers including Rosie Jones and Sarah Keyworth plus many more blisteringly good comedians.
Please note that the artists appearing may be subject to change.
Sean Lock is one of the UK's most highly acclaimed and original comedians. The British Comedy Award winner has appeared on BBC1's Live At The Apollo, Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow and Channel 4's Comedy Gala. He has been a brilliant team captain for fifteen series of Channel 4's award winning panel show, 8 Out of 10 Cats. He stepped down from being a captain in early 2017.
Sean has also appeared on BBC2's QI and BBC1's Have I Got News For You, Channel 4's Alan Carr Chatty Man and BBC1's Friday Night With Jonathan Ross. He also appeared with Jon Richardson in Channel 4's highly acclaimed two-part documentary The Real Man's Roadtrip: Sean and Jon Go West.
'Lock's signature mix of absurdism and everyday observation gets more effective with each new show' (The Guardian)
'Punchy, inventive, superb... undeniably brilliant' (The Times)
'What's remarkable about Lock is how he burnishes the dross of observational platitude into gold. A comic in peak form' (The Guardian).
Sean Lock was named in Ents24's top 10 biggest selling comedians of 2016.

Angelos Epithemiou tour dates
Originally from Nottingham, Sarah Keyworth is becoming a regular on the London circuit and has supported Stewart Francis on tour. Her material is a mix of honest anecdotal storytelling about her Midlands upbringing, made surreal with the occasional addition of a silly observation. She delivers sharp lines with a cheeky smile and moments of sudden deadpan that leave the audience wanting more.

'Rhys James is a comedian who began performing in 2009 in student competitions such as Comedy Central's Funniest Student in 2010, and Chortle's Student Comedy Award. He made his Edinburgh debut as a performer for The Pleasance Comedy Reserve in 2010, and again in 2012 as a performer in AAA- Stand Up. He has also written material for Russell Howard's Good News (http://www.chortle.co.uk).
He’s a super-sharp writer, with a ton of smart, intricately-written jokes and stories where you’re never more than a few seconds away from another punchline.
'Highly amusing' (The Stage).
