Info provided by the Event Organiser
Originally signed to the influential Manchester label Factory Records, the Happy Mondays formed in 1980 with a sound that owed as much to northern soul and funk as it did rock and psychedelia. It was, however, the influence of the house music records beaming in from Chicago that had the most profound effect on the band.
In 1990 they released the 'Pills 'n' Thrills and Bellyaches' album which collided with the acid house and rave movement that had swept the UK, firmly putting The Happy Mondays on the map as one of the most inspiring bands to come out of England in the early 1990s. And 30 years on from their debut album 'Squirrel And G-Man....', Shaun, Bez and the gang continue to be 24 hour party people.
Happy Mondays tour dates
Best known as the bassist from Joy Division and New Order. Peter decided to honour the outstanding work of his first band and the undoubted genius of the late Ian Curtis by giving people the opportunity to hear past Joy Division albums performed live and in their entirety. Backed by his band The Light, Hooky first played 'Unknown Pleasures' at the Factory club in Manchester in 2010, and has continued to tour the back catalogue ever since.
Peter Hook tour dates
Formed in the mid-80s by former youth worker Peter Hooton. Probably best known for their anthemic hit 'All Together Now', first released in 1990 and reissued as the official England European Championships single in 2004, they're still getting on the Groovy Train today.
The Farm tour dates
Manchester's legendary dance outfit and bringers of ambient techno to the early 90s masses, the 808 boys are still an integral part of the UK dance scene today. If you want further proof, how many other dance outfits have a back catalogue of seminal tunes that include Pacific, In Yer Face, The Only Rhyme That Bytes, Lopez and Cubik
