Made In The Great War

To mark the 100th anniversary of World War I, through music, storytelling and film, Bellowhead fiddler Sam Sweeney tells the true story of a violin part-made by Richard Spencer Howard, a music hall performer from Leeds who fought in World War I, leaving the parts of a violin unfinished in his workshop.

Sam has collaborated with story-teller Hugh Lupton, fellow Bellowhead band mate Paul Sartin and concertina player Rob Harbron to create a performance based on this story, featuring on stage the actual fiddle made by Richard Howard.
