Queen, Adam Lambert
Queen + Adam Lambert return to Europe later this year for a series of dates including 12 arena concerts in the UK and Ireland. The tour will showcase a spectacular new stage production and a set list that the band hints will provide some surprises.
These shows will mark the band’s first full British tour in almost three years, having last performed across the UK in January 2015 when they played 10 sold out shows. Their only UK appearance in 2016 was a one-off headlining set at the closing night of the Isle of Wight Festival on Sunday 12th June. Isle of Wight festival organizer John Giddings credited the band with “the greatest show we have ever had”.
For their 2017 tour, the band will unveil a brand new show including a specially designed state-of-the-art production. The choice of performance material will no doubt acknowledge this year’s 40th anniversary of Queen’s biggest-selling studio album to date, News of the World from 1977, which yielded the immortal anthems “We Will Rock You” and “We Are the Champions”.
This event takes place at FlyDSA Arena, which has achieved Bronze Status for disabled access from Attitude Is Everything.
One of the best loved rock bands of all time, Queen were originally formed in 1968, and went on to achieve huge commercial success - only The Beatles have spent more time in the UK charts.
The band split after the tragic death of their iconic frontman Freddie Mercury, and it was only in 2004 that the decision was made to play live as a group again and the band hit the road with Paul Rogers, whose strong voice and experience with other legendary bands (Free, Bad Company) meant that Queen were able to recapture the excitement of their heyday.
Queen returned again in 2012, joined by US singer-songwriter Adam Lambert. The band first teamed up with Adam Lambert in 2009 to perform their rock anthem "We Are the Champions" on American Idol's season eight finale. Lambert and Queen partnered again in 2011 at the MTV European Music Awards in Belfast, before hitting the road in the summer of 2012 for their first live concerts together. They are back together for a UK arena tour in 2017.

Adam Lambert’s stunning performances on the eighth season of American Idol are still widely regarded as some of the most riveting moments in the show’s history. His debut album For Your Entertainment earned him a Grammy Award nomination for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.
His second album, Trespassing, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts. His subsequent tour took Lambert from Australia to South Africa, throughout Asia and Eastern Europe and culminated in a sold-out arena show in Helsinki, Finland. In 2013,
Lambert also appeared as a guest star on the hit TV series, GLEE.
