Funhouse Comedy brings an outstanding day of comedy to the covered beer garden stage at The New Barrack Tavern, Sheffield on Sunday July 1st with its Edinburgh Festival Preview All-Dayer.
2.00pm – Gary Delaney - Gagster’s Paradise
One of Britain's leading one-liner comics returns with another onslaught of lean, expertly crafted gaggery. A Mock the Week regular and recent star of Live at the Apollo, Gary's shows are known for an unrivalled volume of high-class gags.
3.25pm – Dominic Holland - The Glory Year
In the past he's tackled hard questions like: how do you know when to wash a towel or when an onion is peeled? This year, this fearless award-winning comic demands to know why we bother with dinner parties? An everyman (albeit with a superstar first son in Tom, Spider-Man), his great skill is picking apart his own life and making audiences laugh at themselves.
4.50pm – Scott Bennett – Leap Year
People say it's brave to do stand-up comedy; it's braver to let someone you love do it. This year Scott has finally made a decision and it's changed his life and the lives of those around him. What does it mean to follow your dreams when you feel like you have so much to lose? Rob Brydon tour support, BBC News Quiz writer, The Chris Ramsey Show writer and Amused Moose Edinburgh Award nominee, Scott Bennett is returning to the Fringe with an honest and hilarious new show.
6.15pm – Danny Ward
Danny Ward’s observational humour and his slightly manic style are both endearing and very funny. He can turn the everyday trials that we all experience into piercingly well dissected anecdotes of exasperation and obsession – with wonderfully hilarious solutions. A self proclaimed tataholic, Danny Ward is on a mission to spread the lesson he refuses to learn – when you try and do things on the cheap, it ends up costing you more.
7.35pm – Josh Pugh - The Changingman.
What are the things that define us? The clothes we wear? The jobs we do? The people we hate? Hilarious newcomer and English Comedian of the Year 2016 Josh explores all through his unique brand of stand-up. A show about what Josh reckons identity means. Told through the time he got stuck in a puffer jacket as a child.
8.55pm – Lost Voice Guy – Inspiration Porn
Britain’s Got Talent Finalist, BBC New Comedy Award winner and star and writer of BBC Radio's brand-new comedy series, Ability, has unwittingly become an unintentional porn star because of the inspirational memes that are everywhere these days. Come and see why he doesn't want to be an inspiration because of these stupid memes and why he thinks they're rubbish. He may not be able to talk but he definitely has something to say and his comedy will leave you speechless.
