Kojak's Revenge, Codex 78, Lucid Rising, Dave Clarke, Ted Lavender

This event marks the celebration of the Heritage Lottery Funded Young Roots project- ‘Provincial Punk in Pompey’, a project driven by young people, to explore, document and celebrate 40 years of Portsmouth’s musical heritage, and the influence Punk had on the city and it’s people.

Taking the form of a gig, come along and listen to an evening of punk music, featuring a punk band featuring local Punks from the time (Codex 78), a newly formed student punk band (Lucid Rising) and punk and reggae DJ’s.

The closing act will see renowned local band, Kojak’s Revenge, take to the stage to perform a series of punk covers.

The evening will also feature the screening of the documentary film that the young people have been working on; a testimonial piece introducing local people who experienced the Punk scene in the city.

There will also be the opportunity to explore the Punk exhibition, curated entirely by the young people, and buy an array of Punk merchandise - keep an eye out for the unique bespoke pieces!
