Led by inspirational conductor John Wilson, 164 of the brightest and best British teenage musicians present an evening filled with mystery, drama, hope and redemption. Brett Dean's wonderfully eerie Komarov's Fall, written in memory of Cosmonaut Vladimir Komarov, a casualty of the international space race in the 1960s, is one of Dean's most celebrated works.

Szymanowski's Symphony No.4, subtitled 'Symphonie concertante' in recognition of the near-soloistic role played by the pianist, unites the NYO with the acclaimed pianist, Tamara Stefanovich. The rousing programme culminates in Rachmaninov's opulent and lyrical Symphony No.2, composed when he was at the pinnacle of his career as a composer, pianist and conductor.

This music is compelling, inspiring, powerful, and in the hands of the world's greatest orchestra of teenagers, totally uplifting
