Rambert Dance Company

The masterpiece of choreographer Christopher Bruce, Ghost Dances is possibly the most popular work in Rambert’s history. It tells stories of love and compassion, as death – in the form of the iconic “ghost dancers” – interrupts the daily lives of a series of ordinary people. Created as a response to political oppression in South America, it uses imagery from the Day of the Dead and bewitching folk songs to create moving, intensely human work.

This triple bill of world-class dance to live music also includes Hydragyrum. Performing beneath a giant revolving mirror, dancers morph from a powerful-but-anonymous group to defiant-but-vulnerable individuals.

The final work from Britain’s national dance company explores the subject of migration. Flight uses multimedia projections to create an ever-shifting backdrop as dancers dramatise the emotional journey of leaving one home to search for another.
