A new one-man play, written and performed by Mike Brown

Meet Tobias Folair as he reminisces upon his association with the legendary Henry Irving, and Irving’s lifelong obsession with the melodrama ‘The Bells’.

Viewing from afar that bright star of Victorian theatre, Folair’s touching anecdotes take us from Irving’s first faltering steps upon the boards to his final curtain in the magnificence of Westminster Abbey.

In 1897 Irving, along with Ellen Terry and the London Lyceum Company visited the Theatre Royal Nottingham. Performances that week included Irving’s Shylock in The Merchant of Venice and his legendary performance in The Bells.

This event is free admission but booking is required due to limited capacity.

Access to the Dress Circle foyer will be open from 12.15pm, and the bar will be open for refreshments, before the performance starts at 1pm. Yarn Bar is also open every day from 11.30am for coffee, brunch and lunch.
