Thomas Adès and Britten Sinfonia return to the Norfolk & Norwich Festival, following their sell-out performance of Beethoven’s Symphonies 1 and 2 in 2017. Their journey through Beethoven’s symphonies sees them perform the perennially popular, vivacious Symphony No 5 and the subdued, poignant Symphony No 4.
Adès and the orchestra interpret and illuminate these monuments of the orchestral repertoire, alongside the inventive music of Irish composer, Gerald Barry. The concert features Barry’s Piano Concerto written specially for, and performed by acclaimed pianist, Nicolas Hodges.
