Editors + British Sea Power
Editors follow high profile UK appearances at Glastonbury, T In The Park and Reading and Leeds alongside headline spots at Lowlands and Werchter with their first UK tour in three years.
The November tour sees the band play extensively across the UK following the release of their fourth studio album, ‘The Weight Of Your Love’ over the summer. Recorded in Nashville with Jacquire King (Tom Waits, Kings Of Leon), the album marked a fourth consecutive Top Ten placing for the band in the UK with Top Ten placings throughout Europe.
British Sea Power will join them on all UK dates at Editors' invitation.
This event takes place at O2 Academy Newcastle, which has achieved Bronze Status for disabled access from Attitude Is Everything.
This Birmingham-based quartet have enjoyed a rapid rise to success since they met at college in Staffordshire in 2003. An intense sound influenced by iconic bands such as Joy Division, Echo and the Bunnymen and Interpol, their success story began when their 2005 debut album 'The Back Room' reached no. 2 in the UK, selling over half a million copies. Meanwhile 2007's 'An End Has A Start' and 2009's 'In This Light And On This Evening' both reached the no.1 position, and 2013's 'The Weight Of Your Love' also hit the top ten. No mean feat for a band still considered to be "alternative".

British Sea Power are Yan, Noble Hamilton, Woody and Eamon. The band began life in Cumbria, 2001, and after a few relocations gained an enormous reputation in Brighton and then Europe, as tour supports to such greats as Interpol and The Flaming Lips. By the end of 2004, they were known worldwide, receiving acclaim as 'the best band in Britain' (Sunday Times) and attaining the Time Out award for Live Band Of The Year. It's quite remarkable that in this short time, BSP have established themselves as one of Britain's most noteworthy bands.
