The 80s Strikes Back: Tony Hadley, Jimmy Somerville, Marc Almond, Heaven 17, Odyssey, Altered Images, Sonia, Jason Donovan
As lead singer of Spandau Ballet, Tony Hadley has, over the years, earned the accolade of being one of pop music’s greatest vocalists. Pioneers of the '80s Romantic movement, Spandau Ballet had numerous chart topping singles and albums all over the world, the most memorable being the singles "Gold" and the international number one "True", the latter famously sampled by PM Dawn in 1991.
As a solo artist in his own right who has continued entertaining audiences with his stunning rich voice that has lost none of its power. He released his first solo album back in 1992 and has continued to release albums sporadically, including a jazz/swing album and a Christmas album.

Iconic singer and political debater, Somerville is the man with the unmistakable voice who fronted Bronski Beat and The Communards in the 80s with such hits of 'Small Town Boy' and 'Don't Leave Me This Way'. He continues today as a solo artist producing new material, but still peforming the old classics.

The former Soft Cell frontman is also well established as an internationally acclaimed and successful solo artist. He has sold over 30 million records worldwide and is an icon and influence to a generation of musicians.
Marc Almond tour dates
The brainchild of Martyn Ware and born from the collapse of the original Human League, 80's synth pioneers Heaven 17 have stood the test of time and been an influence on the future of modern music for over thirty years. Their debut 1981 album, 'Penthouse And Pavement', was, and remains, a modern classic. Glenn Gregory and Martyn continue to perform the hits from their overwhelming back catalogue, including 'Temptation' and '(We Don’t Need This) Fascist Groove Thang', along with unveiling their first new material in 12 years.
Heaven 17 tour dates
Odyssey's UK top 10 classic hits include "Native New Yorker", "Use It Up And Wear It Out", "Looking For A Way Out", "Inside Out" and "Going Back To My Roots" as well as the rare groove soul anthem "Don't Tell Me Tell Her".
Their fusion of soul, pop, dance, jazz, funk and latin-caribbean rhythms continue to make them popular around the world. In the great tradition that has made them famous, Odyssey's new releases carry their classic sound forward as "old school meets new school meets old school".

One of the brightest stars in the 80s new wave sky, Altered Images are best remembered for their no.1 single 'Happy Birthday'. Their bubbly lead singer Claire Grogan originally shot to fame in the film 'Gregory's Girl', then later went on to appear in 'Red Dwarf', 'EastEnders', 'Skins' and was a presenter on music station VH1.
Altered Images continue to wow crowds at various 80's festivals around the country and in 2018 Cherry Red Records released a 4-CD box set of their complete recordings on the Epic label.

'80s heartthrob Jason Donovan won nearly every Australian award during his time on Aussie soap Neighbours, and the hearts of millions. His vocal career began in 1988 when he released 'Especially for You' with Kylie Minogue and a debut solo album 'Ten Good Reasons'. Following the release of his second album in 1989, Jason became the biggest selling UK and European artist.
He kicked off a successful West End career in 1991 with a starring role as Joseph in 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat' at the Palladium. He's since gone on to star in productions such as 'The Rocky Horror' UK Tour during the show's 25th anniversary and Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert', as well as coming third in the 2011 series of Strictly Come Dancing.
