This event has been and gone.
London’s brightest new festival, Citadel has carved out its own, unique place in the music calendar. Aiming to deliver the ultimate summer Sunday with a combination of live music, good quality food and drink and unforgettable experiences, for one day of the year Citadel transforms Victoria Park into a sun-drenched utopia.
Marking the beginning of the countdown to 2017’s edition, Citadel has announced a massive headliner and a UK festival exclusive in the form of Foals. The quintet from Oxford have, over the past few years, become one of the greatest live acts on the scene thanks to their crowd-conquering sets, which have seen them headline festivals across the world.
This headlining set will serve not only as the epic culmination to what has been a whirlwind 12 years for Foals, but as a defining musical moment of the summer.
Joining Foals is one of the masters of modern electronic music, Bonobo, fresh from the release of his latest album, Migration. Also joining the Citadel bill are the critically-acclaimed, Mercury Prize-nominated Wild Beasts, who will be delivering their eccentric brand of indie rock a twist. Citadel are also delighted to welcome the prolific folk artist Laura Marling. The multi award-winning musician is scheduled to release her highly-anticipated sixth album, Semper Femina, in 2017 so expect new material and old favourites from her set.
Elsewhere, there’s Australian singer-songwriter RY X, fast-rising US artist Maggie Rogers - who was propelled from anonymity after a video of an awestruck Pharrell listening to one of her tracks at an NYU Masterclass went viral - NYC brass-led band Lucky Chops, folk duo Hudson Taylor and Irish pop-rock trio Picture This and many more!

From playing chaotic house parties in their home city of Oxford to becoming major festival headliners across Europe, Foals’ trajectory has been remarkable. Since forming in 2005 they’ve earned critical acclaim (NME and Q Award wins, plus Mercury Prize, Ivor Novello and BRIT Award nominations) and fan devotion (1.7 million sales of their four Gold-certified albums, plus over half a billion streams at Spotify since 2015) in equal measure. And while the majority of contemporaries have fallen by the wayside, Foals continue to hit new peaks.

With his acoustic sound and timelessly soulful voice, British singer/songwriter Michael Kiwanuka emerged to acclaim in 2011 combining folk, indie rock, and R&B with traditions borrowed from his Ugandan heritage. Drawing favourable comparisons to Curtis Mayfield, Terry Callier, and Van Morrison, Kiwanuka earned a Mercury Prize nomination for his debut album, 2012's Home Again, and won the BBC's Sound of 2012. He further cemented his reputation as a gifted and rootsy performer with his sophomore album, 2016's Love & Hate, which went gold, landing at number one in the UK.
