Meet Michael; a talented but confused figure currently selling out as the house artist of a major multi-national conglomerate.

Their new venture? Space tourism. And so Michael finds himself 400km up; a stranded astronaut, spinning around the earth on a solitary orbit.

The crew are dead, the space craft is falling apart and our hero begins to suspect not everything is at it seems. Contact with earth is proving elusive, the silence mounts, the air thins and Michael fears he is failing to live up to the expectations of his profit hungry employers.

But how can you succeed when you don’t know what you’re aiming for?

Time ticks and Michael teeters on the cusp, hovering between the inspirational and the insipid, the visionary and the vague.

Combining stunning sci-fi set design by Lauren Pratt (Les Enfants Terrible) and projection mapping from Martin Dewar (Complicite) this is a black comedy about suspension, isolation and our disintegrating times.

Space Play is made and performed by Mark Knightley and Harriet Madeley. Brave Badger was formed in 2012 and makes political and socially engaged work, often using forum and immersive theatre techniques.
