Music Venue Trust Presents - Fightback
Following a number of stories about venues across the UK coming under threat or closing down, Music Venue Trust launches Fightback, a one-off evening of music to raise vital funds to create a new service to stop the closures.
The event will support the launch of a brand new nationwide service from Music Venue Trust which will directly stop music venue closures by tackling the number 1 cause of those closures; the cost and complexity of legal advice and expert opinion on planning, development, noise and licensing issues.
This Manchester outfit blend falsetto vocals with synths, guitars and discordant pop hooks. Quirky singles like 'Photoshop Handsome' have seen comparisons to XTC, Wild Beasts and Django Django, but the band also have a sound all of their own.

Much under-rated British singer-songwriter, who was nominated back in 2001 for his debut album 'Here Be Monsters'. His sometimes dark and melancholy lyrics blend with piano melody and beauty to deliver a sound not a million miles away from Crowded House and Jeff Buckley. Ed is also partial to collaborations. In 2013 he co-write and produced Sophie Ellis-Bextor's 'Wanderlust' album, while in 2015 he played piano on stage with The Libertines.

There is something about Jake. Within seconds of hearing his haunting melodies you are almost hypnotised by his soft, slightly weary but strong voice. His music is complex and simple all at the same time. You will not forget the man, the musician and the music in a hurry. At just 18 Jake found himself working with artists such as Daniel Bedingfield, Natalie Umbrulia and a job as Duffy’s Musical Director. Major solo career highlights to date include a MOBO nomination in 2010, performances at the Jazz Cafe and writing collaborations and credits with everyone from Wayne Hector, Jake’s sound is a fusion of Chris Martin and John Mayer with a hint of Paul Simon.
