The Rhapsody Tour

Having well and truly rocked North America with 25 giant shows across the Summer which drew universally ecstatic reviews and played to sold out audiences totalling close to 400,000 spectators, Queen + Adam Lambert have finally announced that they will bring their brand new, hugely anticipated 'Rhapsody' concert experience to The O2 in June 2020.

The all-new Rhapsody show, already hailed as 'a marvel of technical advances', will kick off the new year of 2020 with 17 giant arena and stadium shows across South Korea, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. The extravaganza will then arrive in the UK and Europe in late spring, as Queen original band members Brian May and Roger Taylor team up once more with longtime front man Adam Lambert on lead vocals.

Since Adam Lambert first shared the stage with Queen for the 2009 American Idol final, his dynamic performances have reinvigorated the band and delighted fans worldwide. Starting as they meant to go on, their first full show together in June 2012 thrilled a crowd of half a million strong in the Ukraine capital city of Kiev. Since then, May and Taylor’s musical fireworks have been matched by Lambert’s vocal prowess and stage presence, making for an explosive combination. Over 200 gigs later, the partnership has remained a commercial and critical triumph, playing to enraptured full houses in every corner of the world.

Queen

Queen appearing at this event

One of the best loved rock bands of all time, Queen were originally formed in 1968, and went on to achieve huge commercial success - only The Beatles have spent more time in the UK charts. The band split after the tragic death of their iconic frontman Freddie Mercury, and it was only in 2004 that the decision was made to play live as a group again and the band hit the road with Paul Rogers, whose strong voice and experience with other legendary bands (Free, Bad Company) meant that Queen were able to recapture the excitement of their heyday. Queen returned again in 2012, joined by US singer-songwriter Adam Lambert. The band first teamed up with Adam Lambert in 2009 to perform their rock anthem "We Are the Champions" on American Idol's season eight finale. Lambert and Queen partnered again in 2011 at the MTV European Music Awards in Belfast, before hitting the road in the summer of 2012 for their first live concerts together. They are back together for a UK arena tour in 2017.

Adam Lambert’s stunning performances on the eighth season of American Idol are still widely regarded as some of the most riveting moments in the show’s history. His debut album For Your Entertainment earned him a Grammy Award nomination for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance. His second album, Trespassing, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts. His subsequent tour took Lambert from Australia to South Africa, throughout Asia and Eastern Europe and culminated in a sold-out arena show in Helsinki, Finland. In 2013, Lambert also appeared as a guest star on the hit TV series, GLEE.
