"Plosive’s flagship stand-up night, bringing the best in alternative comedy to south east London.
Headlining January’s show is 2017 Edinburgh Comedy Award winner, Radio X DJ/podcaster and all-round vibe magnet John Robins. John’s appeared on ‘Live at the Apollo’, ‘Live at the BBC’ and ‘Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled’, amongst others.
Joining John are ‘Mock the Week’ regular ‘Man Down’ star Ed Gamble, Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee and ‘Have I Got News For You’ guest Tony Law and Felicity Ward – as seen on ‘Mock the Week’ and ‘Live at the BBC’ – as MC.

John is a comedian, broadcaster and voice over artist based in London. He presents a weekly show on Radio X alongside friend and fellow comedian Elis James. 'The Elis James and John Robins Show' podcast has gained them a devoted following, and is a fixture in the top twenty comedy podcast charts. In 2017 they won The Chortle Award for Best Radio.
John began performing stand-up in 2005 and was an alumni of the legendary 'Bristol Comedy Flat' alongside Russell Howard, Jon Richardson and Mark Olver.
In 2016 Elis and John announced their first major live appearances together. 'The Elis James and John Robins Experience' saw them bring their unique chemistry to venues up and down the country. Demand was unprecedented and tickets for London's Shepherd's Bush Empire sold out in a matter of hours. He is the joint winner of the Edinburgh Comedy Award 2017.
John has appeared on numerous television shows including Mock The Week (BBC2), Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled Series 1 & 3 (Dave), Stand-Up Central (Comedy Central), Russell Howard's Good News (BBC3), Live at The Comedy Store (Comedy Central and Drunk History (Comedy Central).

Ed Gamble is a stand-up comedian, writer and actor. Ed has appeared on some of the UK’s most popular TV shows: Mock the Week (BBC Two), Man Down (Channel 4), Never Mind the Buzzcocks (BBC Two) and Russell Howard’s Good News (BBC Two), as well as presenting radio shows for BBC Radio One and BBC Radio Four. He won the prestigious Chortle award for Best Compere in 2014.
Prior to this, Ed was co-writer and host of the iTunes-topping Peacock and Gamble Podcast as part of his double-act with comedian Ray Peacock. Peacock and Gamble also performed a sell-out UK tour in 2012, which was described as “a triumph of live comedy” (Fringe Guru) and “incessantly hilarious” (The Guardian).
