This Spring, Jazz Cafe invite a full orchestra to perform Kanye West’s 2004 album The College Dropout.

An instant hip hop classic, The College Dropout dropped on Def Jam and Roc-A-Fella in 2004 to huge critical acclaim.

At a time when gangsta rap ruled the charts, Kanye brought subjects normally only reserved for the underground hip hop heads. Religion, education, racism and materialism all feature on the album’s many iconic tracks like ‘Jesus Walks’, ‘All Fall Down’, ‘Through the Wire’, ‘Slow Jamz’ and ‘Graduation’.

Featuring heavy-hitting contributions from hip hop royality including Jay-Z, Talib Kwali, Common, Consequence, Twista, Mos Def, Jamie Foxx and Ludacris, The College Dropout became a straight-to-classic piece of hip hop history.
