Four time Grammy winning artist Erykah Badu has rigorously tried to defy the constraints of genres, re-defining and connecting the dots between hip-hop, soul, r&b and jazz across her body of work.

Her own powerful niche has resulted in collaborations with fellow luminaries Flying Lotus, Outkast, The Roots and D’Angelo. Her tireless output of two mixtapes and five studio albums, the first of which sold over a million copies, makes her one of the most celebrated singers of our era.

Sawa-Manga are the forward thinking yet soulful collaboration between vocalist And Is Phi, and beatmaker D’Vo. Having made a name for themselves at last year’s Brainchild Festival, they have put together a refined reinterpretation of Erykah’s work which celebrates her chameleonic style.
