Mr Tophat, Michael Serafini

Every Saturday at Soul City, Jazz Cafe connect the dots between soul, disco, house and more from across the ages, in the company of their favourite selectors.

Teaming up with electro pop superstar Robyn is not your run-of-the-mill gig, but then again Swedish producer Mr Tophat is not your run-of-the-mill artist. Taking in the nu-disco Scandinavian sound of Todd Terje and Lindstrom and injecting it with boogie and house, Tophat’s star has quickly risen to the same level of his peers.

Joining him in the booth will be Chicago disco favourite Michael Serafini. A consummate DJ, he’s the owner of Gramaphone Records, one of the city’s key vinyl institutions, as well as holding down a residency at the legendary Smartbar.
