London Conversation - Pete Josef Plays The Music Of John Martyn
Merging pastoral folk, blues, rock and jazz together may not seem like the most natural fit in the world, but that’s exactly what John Martyn pioneered on his groundbreaking 1973 album Solid Air. From his storied finger picking technique to his revolutionary use of the Echoplex echo device, Martyn’s collaborators and contemporaries ranged from Nick Drake to Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry.
A huge Martyn fan, UK singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist ?Pete Josef? is a sophisticated soul boy who cut his teeth in Bristol’s buzzing music scene. He will be bringing his own jazz-influenced sound to the table as he takes on Martyn’s vast and varied repertoire.
Pete Josef
From jazz to soul, from downbeat to outright pop, this Bristol soul boy is cooking up essential new music.
