After 7 long months The Jazz Cafe returns fully seated, socially distanced, seven days a week. What better way to return to live music than with Beat Of Brazil, the night where we explore the country's vast musical legacy. Samba, MPB, Bossa Nova and more, these nights are filled with fire and energy.
This time we welcome Let Drum Beat, a percussive quartet with a musical heritage spanning Brazilian, West African, French and Scottish influences. They're music combines irresistible Afro-Brazilian and Brazilian rhythms with lyrics sung in Portuguese and the indigenous Tupi-Guarani languages. They're new album Lua Cheia is a celebration of all things Brazilian with high-energy percussion grooves, melodic instruments, vocal melodies and spontaneous dance.
Aleh Ferriera of Banda Black Rio joins on support.
