Venus Endeavour - alterno rock and grunge with a hint of Americana, fronted by superb singer guitarist Elsa B Baron.
David Woodcock - Upbeat and lyrically sharp pop with a nod to Ray Davies on the one tailored sleeve, and Jarvis Cocker on the other. David's songs have an air of Mott The Hoople, Vivian Stanshall as a drunken Harry Nilsson, Pete Doherty with a clean bill of health or Damon Albarn in young, cocky scamp mode.
Kath and the Kicks - Female fronted alt rock, Kath's got quite a voice, it's a bit Patti Smith but with a better range and little nuances that sound a bit P.J. Harvey. Musically this is all over the shop, but in a good way. It's bluesey, grungy, garagey and touches on New Wave in places, compelling stuff.
The Meffs - A girl plays guitar and sings, a geezer on drums no bassspirited thrash ramalama punk rock, fiery and impassioned Noisy. Under-produced. And most definitely 'in the room'. Glorious punk in the great tradition of British political/punk acts. And if there was ever a time when society needed the kids to make some noise, it is now. Tobi on Fresh on the Net, Dec 2019.
