Carmina Burana

Experience the wow-factor of Orff’s most famous work, with a text by medieval monks on the unlikely topics of wine, women and song. The powerful opening chorus ‘O Fortuna’ will be familiar from several TV commercials, and from the popular BBC ‘Maestro’ series.

The vast orchestra is balanced by the huge forces of The Really Big Chorus, directed by Bob Chilcott. Don’t miss celebrated tenor Neil Jenkins in his depiction of a spit-roasted swan; baritone Jake Muffett as a drunken abbot and a love-sick knight, and soprano Lucy Hall pledging body and soul to her lover.

The proceeds from programme sales, advertising and bucket collections at this concert further the valuable work of the National Autistic Society.

The Really Big Chorus

The UK’s largest choral society with more than 12,000 singing members.
