A double-bill screening of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s classic family stories, with live accompaniment from the BBC Concert Orchestra.
This two-part concert will see the Oscar nominated adaptation of The Gruffalo brought to life on the big screen. Join Mouse on a daring adventure though the deep dark wood, voiced by Helena Bonham Carter, Robbie Coltrane, James Corden, John Hurt and Tom Wilkinson.
This will be followed by the world premiere of The Snail and the Whale live in concert, the tale of an unlikely friendship, a tour of the world and a heroic rescue, featuring the voices of Sally Hawkins, Rob Brydon, Cariad Lloyd and Dame Diana Rigg.
Both films feature music composed by René Aubry.

The BBC Concert Orchestra
Now celebrating a half century of broadcasting, this versatile orchestra varies its range from classical works and grand opera to light music and popular songs.
