Stoph Demetriou’s Grandfather was raised on a peasant farm, left school at 11, fled a war in his home country and became an active member of the communist party behind the Iron Curtain, before coming to London with £10 in his pocket to start a new life. Stoph is a narcissistic, quasi-intellectual out of work actor and comic who has convinced himself that he needs to suffer for his art, and his failures aren’t his fault.

In this multi-media show, Stoph takes a long, hard look at where he’s at in his life, and seeks out the advice of his Granddad to try and gain some perspective. Stoph sets out to explain why self-deception, or “acting in bad faith”, is the cause and a symptom of all of our first-world angst, and hopefully manages to silence that inner voice of honesty that wakes you up at 4am to point out all your mistakes.
