"A wealth of Welsh music and traditional folk arts cast a Celtic spell over Cecil Sharp House for a family-friendly day of non-stop entertainment.
Enjoy the very best of traditional and contemporary Welsh folk dance and song with an afternoon of workshops followed by an evening concert. Have a go at Welsh clogging, dance at the family ceilidh, and learn about the Mari Lwyd and the Welsh version of wassailing. Children can even make their very own Mari. There will also be a chance to join in with the music in the bar during the evening - bring instruments or just your voice!
In partnership with trac (Traddodiadau Cerdd Cymru), the Welsh folk development agency, See www.trac-cymru.org/Table/Wales-in-London/ for further information."

Calan, dubbed "the new ambassadors of Welsh cool" have come a long way since busking the streets of Cardiff. They are now festival favourites, blasting their way through old reels, jugs and hornpipes and then seamlessly morphing into mellow and haunting songs. With their unique instrumental blend, not to mention the percussive sound of the Welsh clogs, Calan's line-up is Patrick Rimes (fiddle, bagpipes, whistle,); fiddler Angharad Sian Jenkins; Bethan Rhiannon - main vocal, accordion and step dancing, Alaw Jones on harp and Sam Humphries on guitar.

Jamie Smith's MABON are Wales' finest exponents of original InterCeltic music. Accordion, fiddle, bouzouki, bass and drums dance through the songs and melodies of Jamie Smith, treading the borders between Celtic heritage and a contemporary sound – experience the energy of jigs and reels; hear a graceful mazurka, an ecstatic muiñera; feel the power of a rousing sing-along tale or a haunting Welsh-language love-song.
“If music could fuel engines, Mabon could solve the energy crisis” - Songlines

‘They are, it seems, as transfixed by the sound as I was when I first heard this extraordinary music’ - Verity Sharpe, BBC Music Magazine.
Bragod tour dates
'The most dynamic band to emerge from Wales for many years, Rag Foundation take these traditional songs, dress them up in fashionable new clothes and present them with sex appeal, flair and imagination.' They have been tipped as having the potential to do for Welsh Folk what the Manics, Catatonia and Stereophonics have done for Welsh Pop.

Welsh singer-songwriter Jack Harris creates songs steeped in mystery and myth, bringing the narrative tradition of folk and blues music into the here and now.
