London Youth Folk Ensemble Sampler Session

Welcoming young musicians who want to create and perform amazing folk music together!

This event is an informal open audition and an opportunity to find out more about the Ensemble and whether it is right for you.

Everyone wishing to apply for LYFE 2015-16, whether or not you have been a member in previous years, must sign up to the Sampler session.

Following the Sampler session, if you have been successful, you will be offered a place in the Ensemble by Friday 2 October.

Players of any instrument are welcome. Previous experience of folk music is useful but by no means essential.

To join the London Youth Folk Ensemble you need to:
Be 12 to 19 years old
Have a good grasp of technique on your instrument and be able to play tunes confidently
Have some experience of learning and playing tunes by ear
Have some experience of playing your instrument in a group, band, ensemble or orchestra.
Demonstrate passion for folk music and commitment to the Ensemble

LYFE will give several public performances during the year. They will include:
