On November 4th Musician, author and former/occasional Carter USM singer Jim Bob releases 'What I Think About When I Think About You', his first solo album for four and a half years. The first single ‘Dream Come True’ is out now.
The album features musicians from The Mystery Fax Machine Orchestra and to coincide with the release the orchestra will back Jim Bob for a very special one off show at Bush Hall in London on November 30th.
Jim Bob has been asked by one or two people (two people) if the album will be another concept album like 'School' or his last album 'Goffam' (failed superheroes). Jim says, 'It’s not a concept album but there’s a general thread – fear for loved ones in a difficult world. It’s an anti break up record. There are far too many of those things knocking around at the moment.'
Jim Bob says he always loved it when Elvis Costello or the Jam or the Smiths released the track listing of a new album and he tried to guess what the songs might be about or what the songs might sound like. He hopes a similar feeling might be evoked by the titles from his new album.
