A member of the groundbreaking jazz orchestra Loose Tubes, saxophonist &composer Tim Whitehead is one of the greatest British jazz players this country has ever produced, and a principal contributor to the evolution of the British jazz since his work with Ian Carr's "Nucleus" and Graham Collier in the 1970's. With awards & nominations including the Andrew Milne Award for jazz and British Composer of the Year, he was named Tate Britain's "Artist-in-Residence" in 2010, the first musician to be so honoured. This spectacular talent has been passed on to his daughter, the singer/songwriter & guitarist Hattie Whitehead, who has been establishing herself as a talent to watch on the Festival circuit, with appearances at Wilderness, Secret Garden Party, Field Day & other high profile gigs. Playing a mix of originals and jazz standards, the combination of the two together is really quite special indeed.
