BQQ Band, Dionne Bennett

The BQQ Band is led by jazz & groove guitarist Bobby Quigley, who since moving to London from Leeds has made his name working with bands including vintage soul & funk specialist Carl Hudson & his crew. For this 606 gig, Bobby has asked vocalist Dionne Bennett, the Welsh singer whose profile is perhaps most celebrated in London due to her work with the critically acclaimed jazz/electronic/soul outfit Slowly Rolling Camera, to be his featured guest. With its retro yet modern vibe, this project is very much in the spirit of the eclectic approach to contemporary jazz that has made the scene so vibrant of late.
