A jazz singer of outstanding talent, whose career spans the West End, Broadway, Hollywood. The daughter of late Jamaica-born jazz pianist Leslie 'Jiver' Hutchinson, she made her debut as a pianist on BBC radio show, " The Children's Hour" at the age of 13, and has gone on to balance a career as a solo performer on England's club circuit and in musical theatre. Elaine has made numerous radio and television broadcasts and concerts singing with Small Groups, Big Bands and Symphony Orchestras around the world starring with Michel Legrand, Stephane Grappelli, Andy Williams, Benny Carter and Herb Ellis.

Martin is regarded as one of the top jazz soloists in the country. You will hear him in an extraordinary range of settings from big band to quartet, cutting edge jazz to contemporary pop and funk. Martin is professor of Jazz Trumpet at the Birmingham Conservatoire.

Yazz Ahmed

Yazz Ahmed appearing at this event

Yazz Ahmed is a British Bahraini trumpet and flugelhorn player. Since releasing Finding My Way Home in 2011, British-Bahraini trumpet player, Yazz has emerged as a distinctive voice on the UK Jazz scene, both as a soloist and composer. Yazz won great reviews for her debut at Ronnie Scott’s, leading her own quintet and in opening the Jazz In The Round series at the Cockpit Theatre with her vibraphone and bass trio. Since then, she has performed with her small ensembles at the Vortex, the National Portrait Gallery, opened the 2013 Manchester Jazz Festival, performed at the Museum of Modern Art, Kuwait, the Alfa Jazz Festival in Ukraine, and the 17th European Festival in Algeria. Yazz has also played flugelhorn on Radiohead’s album The King of Limbs and The King Of Limbs Live From The Basement, which was screened worldwide during July 2011.
