Take a group of the hottest contemporary fiddle players from the Highlands and Islands of Scotland and you've got Blazin' Fiddles on your hands. During a performance, the audience has a rare opportunity to hear pieces featuring the regional styles of each fiddler followed by all hands jumping in for a wonderful explosion of music. Fiddles and bows blaze away with guitar and piano for one of the most exciting and memorable fiddle ensembles ever to take the stage.
What began as a project for the Highland Festival almost 15 years ago, continues as one of Scotland’s top traditional bands. From remote village halls to the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, Blazin’ Fiddles has delighted audiences with their highlands and islands tunes and tales whilst embodying the excitement, passion and sensitivity of Scottish music.

Dumfriesshire born singer Emily Smith first made her mark on the Scottish music scene when she won the 2002 BBC Radio Scotland's Young Scottish Traditional Musician of the Year Award. Her voice blends delicacy with surprising power and is equally alluring whether enriched by instrumental backing or unaccompanied. A talented songwriter and multi-instrumentalist as well as being recognised as one of the finest interpreters of Scottish song. Her affection for collecting poetry and song books often results in reworked ballads and original settings which are seamlessly interwoven with her own descriptive songs.
