TOM's Film Club: Mirai (PG)

Nominated for Best Animated Feature at this year’s Academy Awards, Mamoru Hosoda follows such previously acclaimed works as The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Summer Wars with his fantastically surreal coming-of-age story.

The film follows four year old Kun, struggling to cope with the arrival of a little sister in the family. However, the backyard of the boys home becomes a mysterious gateway allowing him to travel back in time.

Through encounters with his mother as a little girl and his great-grandfather as a young man, Kun will learn new perspectives that will help him adjust to life as an older brother.
