‘Tis the month of December, and as youngsters all across the land prepare to hang up their stockings in anticipation for a visit from Santa Claus, The Hyena Lounge Comedy Club offers up a Christmas treat for slightly older children packed with ho-ho-ho-hilarity.
Featuring Keith Farnan, Jimmy McGhie, Paul Pirire and Barry Dodds in a two hour show packed with laugh; it’s the perfect night of festive-fun.
Thought -provoking and laugh out loud funny with a lightness of touch and a hefty helping of roguish Celtic charm, if Eddie Izzard had been Irish, he’d surely have turned out a lot like Keith Farnan!
He has performed all over the world, from Montreal to Amsterdam, Dublin to Hong Kong, with his numerous shows at the Edinburgh Festival selling out their runs and being transferred to the Soho Theatre and Royal Festival Hall in London.
His TV credits include the ‘Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow’ and ‘Live at the Comedy Store’ and radio appearances include being a regular guest on BBC Radio 4’s ‘Loose Ends’ alongside Clive Anderson.
Jimmy McGhie began his comedy career over a decade ago when he made it the finals of the prestigious ‘BBC New Comedy Award’ and is now one of the top stand-ups on the UK comedy circuit. He has performed his stand-up on numerous television and radio programmes all over the including ‘Russell Howard’s Good News’ and ‘Celebrity Deal or No Deal’ and is also a highly sought after studio warm up for shows such as BBC1’s ‘The Graham Norton Show’.

Winner of ‘Scottish Comedian Of The Year’, Paul Pirie is a hilarious rubber faced comedian, full of energy and never more than a line away from a great pun or well crafted punch line. His sharp, rapid-fire comedy onslaught is packed with highly entertaining material blurring the lines between real-life anecdotes and flight of fancy, it’s been observed by critics hat he channels the late Robin Williams at his most excitable.
Paul’s career has encompassed TV, film and radio alongside his stand-up, and he is now one of the biggest acts on the UK comedy circuit.
Hosting the show is self-confessed comedy geek and multi-award winning comedian, Barry Dodds.
A talented storyteller, he charms audiences with his disarming wit and wry, down-to-earth observational humour and is currently supporting Jason Manford on numerous dates on his UK Tour.
Barry also co-hosts the smash hit podcast ‘The Parapod’ where he discusses the paranormal, explores hauntings, and delves headfirst into the unknown alongside fellow host, Ian Boldsworth. Quickly becoming a huge world-wide hit with millions of listens it has recently been made into a feature film, which will be in cinemas next year.
So forget about all the presents that still need buying, the impending family rows and working out exactly how long it takes to cook a turkey and head out for a night of side-splitting entertainment packed with jokes and merriment as our quartet of Santa’s little helpers take to the stage in our comedy club Christmas Special.

Paul Pirie began his stand-up career after giving up acting to pursue the funny man that lies within, quickly establishing himself on the Scottish comedy circuit before lauching onto the UK comedy scene and even appearing in Ikea's April 2011 comedy based TV advert. It should be pointed out that when Paul started stand-up in 2004 he was living with his Gran, having given away the keys to his flat in a pub quiz. Since this time Paul’s career has encompassed TV, Film and Radio alongside his burgeoning skill as a stand-up with Paul emerging as one of the biggest Scottish acts on the UK comedy circuit.
