'There's a lengthy creative thread running through Art School Girlfriend.
Raised in Wrexham, North Wales, she then spent five years in London before eloping the calmer creative climes of Margate.
Different projects, different guises have followed, before this young artist settled on her current moniker.
A perfectionist, the material on upcoming EP 'Measures' - released on Paul Epworth's Wolf Tone label - has been in the works for some time, a laborious, exacting process.
But it's all been worth it. 'Measures' is led out by new song 'Bending Back', an entrancing piece of electronic pop music that cuts a little deeper.
The billowing, continually evolving production forms a soft bed for Art School Girlfriend's vocal to relax into, a striking, direct, yet playfully experimental performance.'
Art School Girlfriend tour dates
An electronic duo based in London.
'If you’re going to call your band audiobooks, you’d better get your stories straight. Evangeline Ling and David Wrench have great stories. Their songs are full of them - discombobulating observations over discomfiting oscillations. There are woozy fly-on-the-wall accounts of boozy art gallery openings and out of body journeys through the capital at night, all stretched out over stuttering, glitchy glam electronics. Managing to be spontaneous and playful yet fully focused, as if driven by some pagan design, audiobooks ride the sharp neon ley-lines that run between the north Wales coast and the grubby heart of after hours London. These songs are Pulp fictions by an inhuman league.'

'Boy Azooga, the psych-flecked musical vehicle for Cardiff’s Davey Newington multifarious musical mission.
A prodigous musical talent, Davey Newington is a young man with much musical heritage. One of his granddads was a jazzer who played drums for the Royal Marines. Davey’s dad (violin) and his mum (clarinet) both played, and met, in the BBC National Orchestra Of Wales. Davey himself took up drums at the age of six and also enjoyed orchestral engagement, playing in various Welsh Orchestra’s and Jazz bands as a teenager.
Inspired by his art teacher at school who sent him off to town to buy Can’s Ege Bamyasi, taking inspiration from the likes of Sly & The Family Stone, Caribou, Black Sabbath, Outkast, Van McCoy, Ty Segall and The Beastie Boys and nabbing their name from the 1994 film The Little Rascals, Davey recruited friends Daf Davies, Dylan Morgan and Sam Barnes to form the Boy Azooga live quartet, an ensemble that swings smoothly from filmic instrumentals to a churning, rave-tinged rock that hints at both Can and their progeny in Happy Mondays.'

Art pop from Winnipeg. At a time when bands are stripping to the bare essentials, shedding instruments and members in favour of pre-recorded tracks, Yes We Mystic remains committed, in all senses, to excess. Their maximalist live show packs stages with equipment; their rich, knotted orchestration seem to indulge their every instrumental whim; and their album releases resemble large scale performance art projects.
The trick, if it is to be defined, is to set an expectation, and then defy it; the band takes ideas and sounds from all over the musical spectrum and filters them into something that is exhilarating, heartrending, pummelling, and grand. Perhaps elsewhere the anthemic has had it’s day; here, however, it is bent and distorted beyond recognition into something fresh.
Yes We Mystic tour dates
