Show Of Hands, Miranda Sykes, Kagemusha Junior Taiko Drummers

Devon's hugely popular Show of Hands are to perform in a special outdoor celebration as the London Olympics Torch arrives in their hometown of Exeter.

Singer songwriter Steve Knightley, multi instrumentalist Phil Beer and bass player and vocalist Miranda Sykes have been invited to perform in the evening concert to be staged on Exeter Cathedral Green on Sunday, May 20 for which 8,000 free tickets have been made available. Just weeks after selling out the Royal Albert Hall for the fourth time, the band - who are marking their 20th year - will be back on home turf, playing outside the Cathedral where they have also performed as part of their Spires and Beams tours.

The Olympic Torch will set off from Land's End on Saturday, May 19th arriving at Plymouth that night for celebrations at Plymouth Hoe before reaching Devon's county town on Sunday.

Between 5.30pm and 7pm, The London 2012 Organising Committee and partners Coca Cola, Lloyds TSB and Samsung aim to deliver a spectacular show of top quality music, circus acts and a live interactive screen. The Torch will be welcomed onto the stage by the Lord Mayor of Exeter (Cllr Rob Newby) and guests from London 2012.
