It's the start of a 24-hour news cycle and Rachel Clarke has been promoted as the BBC's newest Head of News.
When a crisis erupts, she has to confront rivals within and without, and decide how to report on a story that could bring down the Corporation itself.

Stand-up comedienne described by Eddie Izzard as 'Funny, sexy, dirty - usually all at the same time'. Suki Webster is a regular guest of The Comedy Store Players and has toured the world with Paul Merton And His Impro Chums and more recently co-wrote Paul Merton Looks at Alfred Hitchcock (BBC4/2) and a Morecambe and Wise tribute show (BBC1). She also co-wrote and was Assistant Director on Paul Merton’s Birth of Hollywood (BBC2).

Hal Cruttenden
Hal Cruttenden is one of the top comedians working in the UK today, as well as being a highly accomplished writer and actor.
Over the last year he’s performed on ‘The John Bishop Show’ (BBC1), ‘Live at the Apollo’(BBC1 and 2), ‘The Melbourne Comedy Festival Gala’ on Channel 10 Australia as well as ‘Have I Got News For You’ (BBC1) and frequently being seen on ‘Great British Bake Off – Extra Slice’ (BBC2).

Sara Pascoe
Sara Pascoe is a British writer, stand-up comedian and actress. She has appeared in a number of television programmes - Campus, Live At The Apollo, QI, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Mock The Week among others - as well as an all-female sketch show and her own Edinburgh show, and runs comedy club The House Of Mirth.
Sara's stand-up is influenced by her joint favourite heroes, Jodie Marsh and Winston Churchill.

Phill Jupitus
This popular stand-up and TV comedian is well-known for his appearances on the pop music quiz show Never Mind The Buzzcocks. His career as a performer began in 1984 when he quit his job as a civil servant to follow a new direction as a performance poet on the alternative comedy circuit and supporting bands such as The Style Council and The Housemartins. During the late '80s he worked with Billy Bragg, directing videos for both Bragg and Kirsty MacColl.
Phill has an abiding love and in-depth knowledge of popular music, particularly ska, bluebeat and rhythm and blues. His hugely successful standup tours have included Jedi, Steady, Go and Quadrophobia, and he has worked extensively on radio, variously as a contributor, panellist and presenter. He has also toured as part of The Blockheads line-up.
