India – Wales: Sun Dial

A collaboration between Jodhpur Riff Festival, Beyond the Border International Storytelling Festival and Festival of Voice.

Sun Dial brings together the music of Wales and Rajasthan with the Sufiesque classical music of India, performed by master kamaicha player Dara Khan Manganiyar, percussionist Sawai Khan Manganiyar, Welsh singer-songwriter Gwilym Morus and Hindustani classical and Sufi singer Smita Rao Bellur. An eclectic mix of ancient Sufi verse, desert melodies, Welsh folk music and poetry, this delightful cauldron of artistic synergy is performed to an atmospheric backdrop of film shot on location across Rajasthan and Wales, edited and produced by 4Pi Productions.
