Die Walküre (Act III) Concert Performance
From the very first bars of The Ride of the Valkyries, the scene is set for an evening of exhilarating music, with the inimitable Bryn Terfel taking the role of the god Wotan. Evelyn Herlitzius, one of the most renowned Wagnerian singers of our time, takes the part of Brünnhilde, joined by a superb cast as the Valkyries.
One of the strongest and best-loved acts of Wagner’s Ring Cycle, it’s actually a complete story in itself – a heartbreaking family tragedy and cosmic drama combined. As part of its 10th anniversary programme, the Centre is delighted to present this concert performance by its resident world-class opera company Welsh National Opera, under the baton of one of the most renowned conductors of Wagner today.
Sung in German with surtitles in English and Welsh.
