Callas - The Life And Music Of Maria Callas
Callas - The Life & Music of Maria Callas is the world’s first fully staged show with orchestra about the life of legendary opera star Maria Callas.
The show explores Callas’s famous love affair with Greek shipping tycoon Aristotle Onassis, who left her in 1968 to marry President JFK’s widow, Jackie Kennedy. Drawing remarkable parallels between her personal life and the roles she played on stage, Callas is a fascinating insight into the enigmatic world of one of the most famous performers of all time.
Music from much-loved operas such as La Bohe?me, Madame Butterfly, La Traviata, Tosca, Carmen, The Pearl Fishers, including the spectacular aria Nessun Dorma, is presented fully staged with internationally acclaimed singers, full orchestra & costumes - and a very special cameo appearance by Jackie Kennedy. A large overhead screen shows historical footage of Callas’s extraordinary life, narrated by the voice of acclaimed British actor, Simon Callow CBE.
