A Story Of Early Music - Medieval And Period Instruments
Please note: Info provided by the Event Organiser
Talented multi-instrumentalists Tom Harrison, Sophie Creaner, and Elisabeth Flett, take you on a light-hearted musical journey with their period instruments (recorders, trumpets, cornetto, violin, bagpipes).
The performance is part recital, part talk, and will tell a story of how music and instruments have changed (or not) from medieval times through to modern day folk. All three musicians were classically-trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, and are specialists in early music as well as folk, jazz, musical theatre, and more.
The afternoon concert aims to be fun for all ages, whether or not you already know anything about early music or period instruments. Drinks will be available to purchase beforehand and during the interval. Visitors are welcome to picnic in the grounds before the concert and the gates open at 1pm. On-site parking is free.
